![]() ![]() Have plenty to do before I move into the newer expansions. A larger playerbase means less AFKers on average.↑ “ Returned after 20 years on live and been doing a bunch of old content and working my way through TBL AAs. With many more people trying StW because it is free we will see many more people who get hooked because they like the game, and these are the players that will not AFK every mission they do. A larger playerbase will help these problems a lot. We all know the problems we face with our small playerbase: quitting and rejoining missions with low levels only to be placed in the exact same mission with them again, missions that don't fill up with 4 people, simple inability to play the type of mission you want because no one else is queueing it at the same time. With more players, there is a higher probability that you can find a game with non-AFK players. I know many people here worry that more players coming over from BR will make the AFK problem worse, but I think it will actually work out in the opposite way. Why I say that the AFK problem will be alleviated with FTP release is because this event will greatly impact the size of the StW playerbase. Tile sets and storyline are core elements of the game, and it's not acceptable if they are absent from full release. ![]() It is an adjustment, something that is entirely acceptable to add on after launch. This is okay, since this is not a core part of the game. Also, it is possible that whatever system Epic says they are working on to alleviate this problem may not be implemented in time for FTP. I say lessened because I am not sure there is any way to fully "fix" this problem (and I am not sure it should be completely fixed). Secondly, the AFK problem will be lessened with FTP release. So, I believe we will be getting the full story and tile sets in mid July. These core elements of the game need to be present when the final product is released, or else the large amount of players entering the game for their first time will be alienated. It would be rather risky to release a final product that is not complete, and I can't imagine Epic would want/need further early access testing once they go FTP. As is, there is perhaps a month (probably less) of game time before the existing storyline is exhausted, and much less time to exhaust the Stonewood tile set that stands in for Plank, Canny, and Twine. I believe this will bring major beneficial changes to our game.įirstly, I'm confident that the storyline and tile sets will be released at this time. What does this mean for us, though? It is likely that the game will leave early access, as FTP is intended to be the final product that is released to market. ![]() As such, I'm confident StW will go FTP mid July. This post has been deleted and I won't link it (don't want to go against any rules), but if you do some Google sleuthing and check out the cache, you can read the original post. In this particular post, many big spoilers about BR Season 4 were revealed along with the FTP leak. The point is, there ARE credible leak sources that have been confirmed by history. I believe this is credible because we have seen a number of credible leaks proven to come true: Dusty being hit instead of Tilted, Jetpack was leaked to be coming in an LTM a month before its announcement confirmed this, superhero theme to Season 3 was leaked before it was confirmed, hop rocks were leaked I believe, I'm sure there are more. On the BR sub, a poster leaked information that StW would go FTP mid Season 5, meaning July. I'm fairly confident Save the World will go free-to-play in mid July. TLDR: mid July StW will go FTP, and this will bring us the full storyline and tile sets and help fix the AFK problem.
